On occasion, you might be lucky if you let the program wait a while and it might actually come back to you, but most of the time it makes little difference.

The big trouble comes when you might be in the middle of your job that you really don’t want to lose, but most of the time, it’s in to Task Manager, find the Hung program and ending the process. Anything that wasn’t previously saved, has now been lost, leaving you with no idea what caused the crash or why.
In Matthew Helmke case, his network wireless card didn’t work after he had upgrade his Ubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10. Although this post discusses the network card, but I think to fix the other hardware is not much different.

Lets starts the lesson, kid :)
Knowing your hardware

Before we could do anything, we needed to learn a bit about our hardware; in this case the model of wireless network card we had. This is easily accomplished using a few commands in the terminal.

We start with the nm-tool command, which is a utility that provides information about NetworkManager, device, and wireless networks.Read more »thecybergalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942483773700693779noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1321270452084637324.post-77477785958414419562012-01-30T23:33:00.000+07:002012-01-30T23:33:31.355+07:00How to Add reddit Lens for Ubuntu’s Unity DashAre you a fan of reddit and also fan of Ubuntu? Linux Mint itself offers two options desktop environment. GNOME 3 with GNOME Mint Shell Extension (MGSE) and MATE, a GNOME 2' fork. However, not everyone hates Unity owned by Ubuntu. Even some Linux users attempt to install the Unity Desktop on their Linux Mint. I belong to one of them.Read more »thecybergalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14942483773700693779noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1321270452084637324.post-78087484599912677532011-12-20T17:39:00.000+07:002011-12-20T17:39:39.870+07:00Growl Fork for Mac OS X Lion (Free)

Notification system that displays fading pop-up notification, Growl must be very familiar to users of Mac OS X. Mac OS X itself using different staining systems. It uses a CMYK staining systems (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key), whereas in Ubuntu we found a different staining, RGB (Red Green Blue).

The different coloring systems are often making a mess on the pattern of the coloring designs, especially the frequent use of image processing applications such as me, often encounter problems related to color. If I design an image on Mac OS X then open it in Ubuntu, the color produced on my screen tend to be different. It gives me a little of trouble when need recalibration.
