How to fix sndvol32.exe

Some of the problems often associated with sndvol32.exe is the error message like “can not find the mixer program sndvol32/r” or “Windows cannot display the volume control on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel”. Here are how to fix sndvol32.exe:

1. Insert Windows Vista/XP CD into your CD/DVD Rom while you hold down the Shift key to prevent the CD from starting automatically.
2. Click Start -> Run and type “cmd”
3. Let’s assume your CD/DVD Rom Drive letter is E: You should type the following commands ended by pressing Enter button:
   

   e:\

   cd i386

   expand sndvol32.ex_ c:\system32\sndvol32.exe

   There is a space between sndvol32.ex_ and c in the above command:
   

   exit
