Cisco VPN Client for Mac Lion

Did you known that the Cisco VPN client for OS X did not work in Lion. So what causes this problem?
Firstly, let’s talk the difference between Snow Leopard and Lion? Answer: The Kernel (Nucleus). In SL, the kernel is 32-bit mode when it is in Leo with 64-bit... This is the main problem why Cisco VPN Client won’t work in Mac OS X Lion.
Using Cisco VPN Client for Mac OS X Lion
So, this is the solutions.
Method 1: Boot your Lion into 32-bit mode.
Just turn on your Mac by holding down "3" and "2" button during startup. The core system will start in 32-bit, allowing you to run the Cisco VPN Client!
Note: The next time you reboot you will use 64-bit kernel again, so you need to make this change to be permanent.

Method2: Make the boot mode to be permanent in 32-bit mode.
To select a 32-bit kernel on the current startup disk, use the following command in a terminal:
computer:~ user$ sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture i386
Password: <type your password>
setting kernel architecture to: i386
changes to kernel architecture have been saved.
The next reboot the kernel of Mac OS X Lion will be 32-bit and Cisco VPN Client will work well!
Note: These settings are added to the file and will take effect after each boot from this disk:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

To return to a 64-bit kernel, the command is:
computer:~ user$ sudo systemsetup -setkernelbootarchitecture x86_64
Password: <type your password>
setting kernel architecture to: x86_64
changes to kernel architecture have been saved.

To determine if your kernel is in 32 or 64 bit:
Open a terminal and type:
computer:~ user$ uname –a

If the response contains "I386", you are in 32 bit:
root:xnu-1699.22.81~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

If the response contains "X86_64", you are in 64 bit:
root:xnu-1699.24.8~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64

That's all. Hope it useful :).
